Two years ago already, Cadillac presented at Pebble Beach the great gig sky was modern evocation of imposing old Eldorado convertibles. This new Cad 'Emiraj Concept, unveiled also the Concours d'Elegance California, is in the same line and can be considered as the coupe cabriolet 2013 Ciel Concept.
This very large cut (5.207 m long / 1930 m wide / 1,397 m high / ~ 1815 kg) is the work of teams led by Mark Adams (director of Cadillac style) and Frank Saucedo (Director of Advanced Design at GM ). The exterior styling is due to Niki Smart and this is the French designer Gael Buzyn who has worked on convertible Heaven who was in charge of the interior design.
The style is majestic, imposing, elegant, slender. It is totally fitting with the design of Heaven but also the new Cadillac line. It would make a nice big convertible V8 engine that could oversee the upcoming Cadillac range, however, this concept is not intended as a possible entry into production in 24 or 36 months.
Cut Elmiraj Concept is powered by a 4.5 L V8 biturbo engine strong 507 hp (373 kilowatts) and 678 Nm of torque. This engine is an evolution with two additional cylinders of the new V6 3.6 L Twin Turbo V6 420 hp which is available on the new CTS. The car is based propulsion platform currently in development by the manufacturer should be used for future high-end brand. Which will be positioned above the current XTS too soft for the S-Class, 7 Series, XJ, LS and other Quattroporte.
